Water Hygiene
Water storage tanks are present in many buildings and these can provide water to many types of water systems. To maintain a healthy water supply it is essential that these tanks are inspected, cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis.
Over time debris such as sediments, scale and other contaminants will build up within a water storage tank and these can provide an ideal breeding ground for bacteria such as Legionella to colonise. Other harmful bacteria may also be present and if left unchecked these bacteria can create a dangerous environment for the entire building.
The monitoring required of cold water storage tanks under ACoP L8 is a twice annual tank inspection, and must check for the presence of:
- Calcium carbonate scale
- Animal/insect activity
- Water stagnation
- Material corrosion
- Biofilms
- Sediment deposits
These are all contaminants within a water system that are known to allow for the proliferation of Legionella bacteria, and must be removed from the system as soon as possible after their discovery. Dynamika’s service technicians are highly trained, and experienced in the cleaning and disinfection of business and domestic water systems.
Emergency tank cleaning and disinfection must be undertaken if potentially dangerous bacteria such as Legionella are discovered, our technical team will work closely with our clients to minimise disruption to everyday life within business properties.
